Captina Duck Dash – July 27, 2024

The largest fundraiser of the year for the Captina Conservancy is a floating rubber duck race down Captina Creek.

Adopt a duck by buying a ticket, and if your duck places, you’ll receive a prize: $500 (first), $250 (second), $150 (third), $100 (fourth), and $50 (last). That’s right, even the unluckiest duck wins a prize.

The cost is $10 per duck or three ducks for $25. You’ll also have the chance to give your duck its own unique name- Lucky Duck, Speedy McDuck, Duck and Cover… use your imagination! This will be a no-duck-left-behind event. Our volunteer sweeper crew will follow the ducks to ensure no impacts are left on beautiful Captina Creek.

The event will take place, Saturday, July 27 at 1:00 at Rainbow’s End, 41273 School Land Rd, Jerusalem, Ohio, to see the race live and in person. Bring a friend and a picnic lunch to make the most of the beautiful South Fork of Captina Creek.

Partnering with Captina Conservancy for the event are Blue Feather Land Trust, Belmont Soil and Water Conservation District, Dimitri Vassilaros, and One JB Digital Media.

Sponsors for the event include Raven Rocks, Inc., The Flower Gardens of Barnesville, Belmont Mills, Village Hardware, Stream and Wetlands Foundation, Happy Tails Pet Salon, Ron and Carol Preston, The Wershing family, and the Barnesville Rotary. to our partners.
