Helen Sheppard

Helen Marjorie Sheppard, age 92, of Belmont formerly of the Piedmont area died peacefully with her sister by her side at 5:22 p.m. Thursday, November 7, 2024 at The Pines ResCare facility in Belmont, Ohio.

Born November 20, 1931 in rural Piedmont, Guernsey County, Ohio.  

She was a daughter of the late Clyde Forrest Sheppard and Sarah Elizabeth Duffy Sheppard.

Helen had worked for several years at Belco Crafts in St. Clairsville. She loved to bowl with Belmont County’s Special Olympics. She was very particular with organizing things in her closet, especially her shoes. She also wanted to make sure everything at her home ran smoothly. She loved her caregivers and had her favorites.

Surviving are two sisters: Anna M. Cook of Freeport and Mary E. Sheppard of Barnesville; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters: Bill Sheppard, Floyd Sheppard, David Sheppard, Verna Stewart, and Grace Friend.

Visitation will be held in Koch Funeral Home, Freeport from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.  Monday, November 11, 2024, which is one hour prior to the start of the service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Methodist Church Cemetery, Hendrysburg Road, Piedmont, Ohio.
