Joseph Burkhart

Joseph Michael Burkhart, 27, of Columbus, Ohio formerly of Barnesville, Ohio passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at his home. He was born on August 11, 1997 in Wheeling, West Virginia to Eric J. and Tammy S. (Freeman) Burkhart.

Joe was a 2016 graduate of Barnesville High School and a 2020 graduate of Ohio University Athens where he received his dual Bachelors in Finance and Business Analytics. Currently he worked for Progressive Insurance as a Senior Data Analyst. Joe had a smile and a personality that lit up a room, he always found the good in people, he left such a big impact on everyone he met, he was respected and loved by all those who have known him.

Joe was preceded in death by his brother, Jason Edward Freeman; maternal grandparents, William and Georgia Freeman; and paternal grandparents, Gene and Marilyn Burkhart.

Joe is survived by his parents, Eric and Tammy Burkhart of North Dartmouth, Massachusetts ; sister, Hannah Burkhart of West Covina, California; Godparents, Mike Burkhart and Beverly Kelly; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 from 4:00 until the time of the vigil service at 6:45pm at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at 10:00am at Assumption B.V.M. Catholic Church, 306 W. Main Street, Barnesville, Ohio with Father Dave Cornett officiating. Burial will follow at Belmont Cemetery.
