Bethesda Mayor and Army Veteran Robert Flannagan has added another World War II cannon to his restoration list.

Recently he completed work on the 90mm  cannon in the yard of Barnesville American Legion Post #168 at 317 E. South Street. Other Flanagan restorations include one at Barnesville Memorial Park, Bethesda Municipal Building and Ebenezer Cemetery.

Flanagan shared the secrets of his art with local radio station WBNV 93.5 that he learned “the ins and outs of restoration from his uncle Bub who would teach him how to paint vehicles at a local Chevrolet dealership”. It was an easy transition to move from cars and  trucks to cannons.
