Students from Union Local High Schools Senior English classes had the opportunity to explore new careers with virtual reality headsets from OhioMeansJobs WDA 16. Some of the jobs students explored were in manufacturing, medical, hospitality and public safety.  

UL Student Council ‘Parent’s Night Out” – November 22

The event will take place at the Elementary School, Friday, November 22.  “Need a date night before the holidays?  Let us handle the kids. The event, hosted by the Union Local Student Council, includes crafts, a movie, games, snacks including pizza and drinks. The cost is $20 per child. All enrollees must be students at the elementary school.   

Registration is extended to Wednesday, November 20. Please call  (740) 782-1181 with questions.    

Elementary parents! Registration for Parent’s Night Out has been extended to Wednesday, 11/20. Grab some dinner, pick up groceries, or take a much needed nap and let the ULHS Student Council entertain the kids!

BHS Cheerleaders  Pajama Party – November 23

The BHS Cheerleaders have issued a “Save the Date” for Saturday, November 23.  They will host youngsters ages 3 through 6th grade for a Pajama Party. The event will include movies, popcorn, snacks, hair tinsel, face tattoos, face painting and photo prop photos. Stay tuned for more information.  

26th Annual UL Middle School Turkey Trot – November 26

The event takes place Tuesday, November 26 at the Middle School Campus at 1:30.

Entry fee is two canned good items (bring more if possible). The food will benefit local food pantries.

The First Period Class with the most canned goods collected wins a pizza party.

The top seven boys and seven girls in each grade level will receive a “famous” Turkey Trot Shirt.

All students entered as either runners or walkers. Awards presentations will follow in  the Middle School Gym.     

Barnesville Middle School Operation Toy Lift Fund Drive 

Now through December 6, the Barnesville Middle School will collect funds from students to benefit the United Way Operation Toy Lift for 2024. Funds will be used to purchase gifts for Upper Ohio Valley students of need. The first period class with the most donations will win milk and donuts as a reward.

Belmont College BLS-CPR Training – December 9

A Basic Life Support (BLS), Certified Pulmonary Resucitation (CPR) training class will take place at Belmont College, Monday, December 9 at 6:00. Call (740) 699-3866 for more details.     

Beallsville Schools Christmas Concert/Family Fun Night – Dec. 11

The Beallsville Schools Music Program will present a Christmas Concert, Wednesday, December 11 at 6:00.  Performances will be offered by the 3-5 grade music classes, 5th grade band, and the Beallsville High School Band. The concert will take place a the school campus. It will be followed by a “Family Fun Night.” 

Barnesville Bands/Choirs Present – Winter Concert – December 18

The free event will take place at the BHS Auditorium, Wednesday, December 18, beginning at 7:00.
