Robert D. Rogers

Robert D. Rogers, 83, of Westerville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 16, 2024. He was born on October 18, 1941, to the late Clayton M. and Lillian (Brown) Rogers of Somerton, Ohio.


A skilled tool and die machinist by trade, Robert was a natural problem solver with a talent for turning everyday items into ingenious solutions. His curiosity and knack for tinkering were hallmarks of his life.


Robert found joy in life’s simple pleasures exploring new places through travel, savoring a refreshing root beer, and enjoying a good nap. Above all, his greatest joy was the cherished time spent with his family. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who left a legacy of love and dedication.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his first wife, Lila; four brothers, Clarence, Paul, Roy, and Eugene Rogers; and his sister, Doris Plumly.


He is survived by his devoted wife of 21 years, Virginia (Ginger); his daughter, Tyra (Brent) Baisden; grandchildren, Spencer and Madison; stepdaughter Michele (Trent) Soles; and grandchildren Blake (Gabbi) Soles, Tiara (Nathan) Frazier, Ariele (Justin) Keller, Grace (Sam George) Soles, and 12 great-grandchildren.


Family and friends are invited to celebrate Roberts life at Moreland Funeral Home in Westerville on Saturday, November 23rd. Calling hours will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by a service at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Pastor Rocky Riddle and Pastor Bud Leskovac. Interment will take place at Fancher Road Cemetery.


In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations to the American Heart Association in Roberts name. Contributions may be made online at www.heart.org
