SR 149 Widening Project Underway
Work crews are now working on ground preparation on the east side of SR 148 just south of I-70 to extend the center turn lane in the road further south. This project is, in part, necessitated by the ongoing construction of the Love’s Travel Stop and County Store.
The project is related to a larger I-70 / State Route 149 EXIT 208 Interchange Improvement Project planned by the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) is developing for interchange improvement project at the I-70/State Route 149 interchange. Construction is anticipated to commence in 2026 and last at least two years. It will involve widening State Route 149 and replacing the existing bridges on I-70. The project is estimated to cost over $3 million to complete.
Meanwhile, the Four-Way Stop interchange project in the village of Bethesda is now complete. That project resulted in delays and one lane traffic while the new intersection including sidewalks was under construction much of the summer.
