Dwain Guiler

Dwain “Squeeze” “Sparky” Guiler, 82, of Quaker City, passed away Friday (November 22, 2024) at his home.

Today (November 22, 2024) a great man full of life, character, guts, and so much more it would fill a book, left this world.  Those who knew him remembered him for either an act of kindness, an act of craziness, an act of silliness, or an act of sternness.  To know him was to love or to hate him and he was okay with that.  He loved his family one and all.  He may be mad at you one moment and later wonder what happened.  He fought multiple medical issues over the years, but mostly with the one disease he dreaded most – Alzheimer’s.  He hated it the most because he said it took his soul.  His motto was bed at sunset, up at the crack of dawn, work came first.  While raising his three girls, he instilled these virtues into their childhood while they were very young.

Left to cherish him are his daughters: Melissa (Earl) Scott, Michelle (Tony) Thomas, and Maricia (Eric) Overly; his grandsons: Earl Wheeler, Duane (Nicole) Wheeler, Kenneth Guiler, Chance Overly, and Eric Overly Jr.; his step-grandchildren: Earl Scott IV, Heather (Steven Gorby) Scott, and Timothy Scott Boyd; his great-grandchildren, Taminee (Johnathan Plant) Wheeler, Anna Wheeler, Domenick Guiler, Isabella Wheeler, Ryder Wheeler, Liam Wheeler, Brooklyn Wheeler, and Owen Wheeler; his step-great-grandchildren, Aden Shook, Jayston Shook, Gage Roberts, and Gracelyn Gorby; his siblings, Marilyn Buffington, Louella (Chuck) Kastellic, Marsha (Jeff) Moore, Theda (Tony) Warden, and Jeff (Polly) Guiler; and several nieces, nephews, & cousins.

Dwain was preceded in death by his wife, Tamara Stack Guiler, whom he married June 14, 1964 and who passed away August 29, 2023; his father, Lester Guiler; his mother, Geneva Triplett Guiler; his brothers, David Guiler and James Guiler; and a great-grandson, Zane Wheeler.

Dwain loved welding, horseshoes, fishing, farming, and operating heavy equipment – but mostly he loved his family and family times.

Private family services will be held.  A memorial service will be held at a later date.
