Martha Lee (McKenzie) Thatcher

Martha Lee (McKenzie) Thatcher, 82, of Perry Township, Massillon, passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2024. Martha was born on May 10, 1942 in Bellaire, Ohio the daughter of the late Leo and Margaret (All) McKenzie.

Martha graduated from Barnesville High School in 1959. She worked as a Hematology Supervisor at Aultman Hospital and retired after many years of service. She was the President of both the American Legion Post 221 and the Department of Ohio Woman’s Auxiliary. She was super outgoing, friendly, loving and caring. She and her husband, Richard, traveled all over the world, and even rode their motorcycles all over the country, including parts of Canada.

She is survived by her loving husband, Richard Thatcher, with whom she shared 64 years of marriage; her children, Richard (Amy) Thatcher, and Karen (Dean) Smith; grandchildren, Jennifer (Matt) Krites, Michael Thatcher, Clayton Thatcher, Drew (Noelle) Smith, Mariah (Dylan) Brandt, and Abigail (Cody) Boudinot; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Cynthia (David) Hillard; brother, Michael (Susan) McKenzie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Marilyn Mendelson, and her brother, David McKenzie.

Visitation hours will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home from 11 am 2 pm, with a Celebration of Martha’s life at 2 pm.
