Local Congregations Prepare for NC Hurricane Mission

Frying 600 pounds of burgers, 75 pounds of sausage, cooking and deboning eight turkeys, chopping 60 pounds of onions is all part of the preparation work under way this week as members of the First Christian Church and Shekinah Christian Fellowship prepare to  go Swannanoa, NC to serve 800 -to 1000 meals daily, December 7-12. 

Members are also bagging and labeling winter clothes and coordinating buying campers and drivers to haul the material south to help with recovery efforts.

Bethesda Christian Church Anniversary Services, Meals

The Bethesda Christian Church will mark its 14th anniversary in its new church building Sunday, December 8.

“It’s hard to believe, but we’ve been in our new location for 14 years. It was the second Sunday of 2010 that we had our first Sunday Worship at this location. We have breakfast at 9:009am, Sunday School at 9:30 and Worship at 10:30. A carry-in dinner will follow the service. The Church will supply the meat, bread & drinks and we ask our church family to bring side dishes and desserts.”  

Christmas Carol Sing Along

A Christmas Carol Sing-Along will take place at the First United Methodist Church, Sunday, December 15, 6:00 at the church.

“DASHING THROUGH THE SNOW WITH CINDY LOU WHO to sing at our annual Sing Along. Come in from the cold as we sing our favorite Christmas Carols together. Bring your family as we create a magical moment with our community! We will have refreshments afterwards.”
