David Neil (Hammer) Hamilton

David Neil (Hammer) Hamilton, 57 of Woodsfield, Ohio passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Barnesville, Ohio December 4, 1966 a son of the late Neil and Shirley Ball Hamilton.

Dave was a 1985 graduate of Woodsfield High School and went on to Nashville Auto Diesel College.  He did auto body repair for 33 years.  He was a member of Woodsfield Volunteer Fire Dept. for 5 years, member of Monroe Central Sideliners for 17 years and he led in the painting of the Seminole head and had also ran chains during home games.

Dave was an avid car enthusiast and was currently building one. He enjoyed working on cars with his buddies.  He enjoyed spending time with his friends and meeting at Knowlton Ford.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother Tom Hamilton of Vincent, Ohio.

He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years; Sharon Hamilton of Woodfield, two sons; Hogan (Stacy) Hamilton of Woodsfield, and Dylan Hamilton of Decatur, Illinois, two brothers Bud (Judy) Hamilton of Woodsfield, and Chuck (Michele) Hamilton of Woodsfield, sister; Becky (Marv) Hickenbottom of Barnesville, Ohio, two grandchildren; Jordy and Maizie Hamilton, and numerous nieces and nephews. Dave was so proud of both his sons and their accomplishments and loved spending time with his grandchildren who were everything to him.

Friends will be received from 1-4 p.m. and 5 p.m. until time of funeral service at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4th at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, Woodsfield with Rev. David Cottrell officiating.  Inurnment will take place at the convenience of the family at Jerusalem Cemetery.

The family would like to say Thank You! to the nurses at Genesis Hospital and also to Melissa and Lexie from Amedisys Hospice, and a huge Thank You to all our family and friends who has been on this journey with our family.
