“Cows Out” Brings Charges
Starving dogs and wandering cows are two of the cases currently being handled by Belmont County Hoof and Paw.
One case in Somerton involves a man whose cows continually wander onto the neighbor’s lawns and onto roadways.
“We’ve been in contact with the owner of them multiple times. The neighbors have called him numerous times to get the cows secured. It got to a point where one cow was hit and killed. Luckily the gentleman that hit it was not injured. These cows out on Flat Rock Road are dangerous because you don’t know that they’re there until you come up over a hill and hit one,” Julie Larish, Humane Agent for Belmont County Hoof and Paw told WTRF News.
Larish noted the same owner has another herd that wanders onto Wright Road southwest of Barnesville. The owner is facing five counts of animals of animals.
