Francis Gene Brill

Francis Gene Brill, 84 of Flushing, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2024 at Cumberland Pointe Care Center He was born on March 17, 1940 in Barnesville, Ohio to the late Charles “Bud” Edward and Mildren Marie (Bailey) Brill.

Gene was former Fire Chief of Lafferty Fire Department where he led by example. He was there for the department and family any time of the day willing to lend a helping hand or serve his community. He gave his heart to the department making it what it has become today. His service to his community will never be forgotten.

For many years he worked as a Truck Driver traveling all over the country from coast to coast. He was a member of the Lafferty Moose.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Richard Brill; granddaughter, Amber Perkins; two brothers, Thomas “Tom” Brill and Ralph Brill.

Gene is survived by two daughters, Bernice Wilson of St. Clairsville, Ohio and Karen (Doug) Fisher of Salesville, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Dexter Wilson, Beth Wilson, Autumn Bernette, Jacob Fisher, Brittany Perkins, Abby Fisher, and Zach Perkins; 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Barb Stephens; and brother, Fred (Connie) Brill.

Visitation will be held at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio on Friday, December 20, 2024 from 6:00 – 8:00pm and on Saturday, December 21, 2024 from 12:00pm until the time of the service at 1:00pm with Chaplain Leo Gonot officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Cemetery in Barnesville, Ohio.
