Just before Christmas they honored several area businesses for their support during the past year Including two from Barnesville: Hissom’s Service Center and Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home.
Chase Milburn of Campbell-Plumly-Milburn was also honored by The Hospice of Guernsey.
Update on Quaker City Business Hit by December Fire
The following social media post provided an update on Dons Tops and Cabinets that suffered a devasting fire Friday, December 13. “Most assume we are closed. We still have a completely remodeled showroom open by appointment and many tools so we arer still open for business and moving forward. Call (740) 679-2373.”

Grocery store bulletin boards in Barnesville sported an announcement just before Christmas for the December 21 “Grand Opening” of J & M Surplus 527 EW Carpenter Road, Quaker City. The location is in Seneca Township, Monroe County, approximately a mile or more northwest of the village of Calais and located north of Miltonsburg-Calais Road.
