Carolyn “Kay (Furney) Perkins
Carolyn “Kay” Perkins, 83, Barnesville, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at Emerald Pointe Nursing & Rehab. She was born on August 29, 1941, in Barnesville, Ohio to the late Clyde Herman and Lillian Doris (Jefferies) Furney.
Kay was a 1959 graduate of Barnesville High School and attended the Beauty College in Columbus. She was a member of the Assumption of the B.V.M. Catholic Church and the Catholic Women’s Club. Kay was an avid Elvis fan.
In addition to her parents, Kay was preceded in death by her husband, David A. Perkins on November 29, 2009; sisters; Suzann Furney and Helen “Jeannie” Shepherd; and a twin brother, Clyde Richard Furney.
Kay is survived by her daughters, Lisa (Bill Froehlich) Perkins of Barnesville and Tammy (Donald) Wells of Barnesville; brother-in-law, Mike Shepherd of Barnesville; and niece & nephew, Jan (Curtis) Caldwell and Jay (Ken) Shepherd.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025 from 4:30 until the time of the vigil service at 6:30pm at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio.
DUE TO THE CURRENT WEATHER FORECAST AND OUT OF AN ABUNDANCE OF CAUTION, THE FAMILY HAS DECIDED TO POSTPONE THE MASS FOR KAY UNTIL TUESDAY, JANUARY 7, 2025 AT 10AM AT ASSUMPTION CHURCH.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 6, 2025 at 10am with Fr. Dave Cornett officiating at Assumption of the B.V.M. Catholic Church, 306 West Main Street, Barnesville, Ohio. Burial will follow at Assumption Cemetery in Barnesville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Kay’s memory to the Assumption of the B.V.M. Catholic Church, 306 West Main Street, Barnesville, Ohio 43713.
