The Belmont Savings Bank quarterly “Jeans Day” funds were donated to the Barnesville School Districts’ Backpack Program lasts week. “Every time our team wears jeans to work, we’re contributing to a cause that matters,” the company post noted.
The $456.00 donation will be used by the First United Methodist Church, sponsor of the Blessings in Backpack program.
“We fill 39 bags every week for students most at risk to be hungry over the weekend,” Ronna Allen director said.
“We deliver to the schools and they pass them out. We supply prepackaged/canned items for at least one meal each day, two breakfasts and healthy snacks for the weekend”.
Members of the First UMC team involved in the program in addition to Allen are Mike Cook, Debbie Cook, Brandi Little, Kennedy Little, Brian Yarnall, Cathy Butler and Lisa Pryor.
