James “Jim” Franklin Cross

James “Jim” Franklin Cross, 62, of Belmont, Ohio passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Bellaire, Ohio on August 5, 1962 a son of Patricia Ann (Wardell) Cross and the late Francis Franklin Cross.

Jim was a heavy equipment operator at Egypt Valley Stone, where he worked diligently and earned the respect of his colleagues. His commitment to his work was matched by his love for the great outdoors. He found joy in nature and spent many cherished moments hunting and exploring the wilderness.

He was preceded in death by his father, Francis Franklin Cross, and granddaughter, Kenadi Elle Gainey.

In addition to his mother, Patricia Ann (Wardell) Cross, Jim is survived by his wife of 41 years, Kandy Cross; children, Jennifer Kay (Benjamin) Summers, James Josiah (Amber) Cross, Kaden James Cross; sisters, Debbie (Danny) Shreve, Susan (Tony) Fleming, Barbie (Richard) Givens; grandchildren, Addison Ellessa-Lee Summers, Dallas James Cross; several nieces, nephews, and friends.

In honor of his wishes, there will be no visitation. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Care Funeral and Cremation Specialists, 204 W. Main Street, St. Clairsville, Ohio 43950. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family by visiting TMCFunding.com
