Children who attend the Haven received “Kindness” Bags from the Advocacy for Children Committee of the Barnesville Junior Women’s Club this past week.
Kindness stickers, heart-shaped crayons, Bekind-shaped erasers, swizzles, candied hearts, and X and O-shaped pretzels. Everything was packaged in a paper Valentine’s jar with the message “When you stand up for others, you create a ripple effect of kindness and compassion.”
Alex Davidson, youth minister of First Christian Church, did an awesome job with a lesson plan on kindness to counteract bullying.

Residents of Barnesville Manor held their second annual Snowball Fight Luncheon, sponsored by our Health and Wellness Committee of the Barnesville Junior Women’s Club.
Residents paired up in teams and tossed large cotton-shaped snowballs until the last team was declared winner. Both members of the winning team received a roll of quarters.
Stories were shared about playing in the snow as children.
