Barnesville Junior Women’s Club “Read Across America”

During the recent Read Across America Week of March 2-6, Barnesville Junior Women’s Club’s Education and Libraries committee members added several biographies to the Little Free Library at the Barnesville Library Annex.

The National Education Association created Read Across America to motivate children to read and celebrate reading with all children.

Barnesville Junior Women’s Club Scholarship

The local club, a member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs, is offering a $500 scholarship to any high school or senior girl who resides in the Barnesville School District or who is a daughter or granddaughter of a current club member. Applicants must attend a college, university or technical school in the coming year and address the topic, “What Volunteerism Means to Me”. Additional application information is available from the high school guidance office. The application deadline is March 31.
