Charles Martin “Marty” French

Charles Martin “Marty” French, of Howard Ohio, passed away from a sudden illness on March 11th, 2025.

Marty was born to Patrick James and Lesa Renee French on August 10th, 1984 in Wheeling, West Virginia. After Marty graduated from Union Local High school in 2002, he went on to study Information Systems where he earned a Bachelor’s and then Master’s degree from DeVry University and Keller Graduate School of Management; respectively.

In 2002, Marty met Sara on their first day of school at DeVry University. Marty and Sara went on to have two sons, Maddox and Alexander.

Marty worked a number of years in the Information Technology sector; most recently at Ohio State’s Wexner Medical Center where he excelled in his job and became friends with many of his coworkers. He was a self proclaimed computer nerd and loved his job in IT and gaming with his sons and wife in his spare time.

Marty is preceded in death by his Grandfather Rodney Wayne Sampson, Grandparents Patrick Ross French and Patricia June (Kimble) French.

He is survived by his wife Sara French and 2 sons – Maddox and Alexander. His wonderful parents, Patrick and Lesa French, loving Grandmother Eva Jean Sampson, his supportive and amazing siblings, Eric (Jaclyn Reith) French and Heidi (Michael) Terek, his many amazing aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces.

Services will be held at Robert’s funeral home, 18260 Coshocton Rd, Mount Vernon, OH 43050 on Saturday March 22, 2025. Visitation starts at 1:00 pm followed by a celebration of life at 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, we kindly ask that you donate to your favorite program, shelter or club in Marty’s honor as Marty loved donating to programs he felt strongly about. Some of his favorites were the Humane Society, Colony Cats, Scouting America and Wounded Warrior Project.
