Sunday, March 9, 2025
12:01 am, traffic stop, 800 north, warning issued for left of center.
12:14 am, traffic stop, East Main Street, warning issued for improper display.
12:25 am, traffic stop, North Chestnut, warning issued for expired registration.
12:46 am, traffic stop, South Leatherwood, with man out of vehicle possible DUI. Officer did field sobriety test, male driver seemed to be fine to drive. All other occupants seem to be highly intoxicated, operator given warning for loud exhaust.
11:19 am, traffic stop on Pike Street. Vehicle is stopped in the roadway. Put hazard lights on and man was putting gas cap on.
08:43 am, traffic stop, Railroad Street, warning issued for speed.
11:15 am, North Chestnut Street, medical emergency, assisting squad with 98-year old unresponsive woman.

10:45 am, investigate complaint on South Chestnut Street. Checking on a vehicle near East South Street, everything is okay, woman pulled over to look for her earrings.
01:05 pm, investigate complaint, South Broadway Street, neighbor’s dog keeps defecating in man’s yard.
3:02 pm, investigate complaint at station in reference to theft that occurred at a hardware store. Report completed.
5:13 pm, property damage, Pine Lane, woman advised her car went out of neutral and drifted into the neighbor’s garage. Officer assisted garage owner with garage door.
5:35 pm, resident who asked about allowable burning times was advised burning times in 6 pm-6am. Caller will be burning small brush pile this evening on County Road 122.
6:36 pm, Walton Avenue, keypad panic alarm on front door. The officer spoke to person who provided wrong passcode. Two dogs inside residence. All ok.
9:08 pm, caller from Bethesda reported that her boyfriend is being harassed, advised her to contact Bethesda Police or Sheriff’s Department.

8:06 am, animal call, report of injured deer in roadway near cemetery 800 south. Still alive, No sighting of the deer on scene.
12:20 pm, male caller asking if a person is in jail. Checked jail roster and advised not in Belmont County jail. Caller states that he has not heard from the person for over a month that used to live in Barnesville.
1:04 pm, advised earlier there was a van at the city dump area north of park with subject stealing stone from the pile. Caller advised it was a white van. Street department employees approached the male in the van and asked why he was helping himself to the stone. He stated he was patching holes on Kennard Avenue. Street employees traveled down Kennard and the van was not there. A few minutes later, Street department found him on Kennard Avenue and requested officer as there are severel stone piles there. Investigate complaint on stolen stone from village dump.
2:18 pm, West Church Street, officer issued illegal parking ticket.
2:20 pm, West Main Street, fixing caution tape near failed retaining wall. Tape came loose and is blowing into the roadway.
2:25 pm, investigate complaint at station, man wanting to talk with officer about a child being left at home by self by mother.
5:15 pm, follow up investigation, mother called in and states that she is home and asked for an officer come and talk to her.
6:03 pm, Warren Avenue, caller advised that two jackets and a blanket were thrown from the school bus onto the sidewalk. Items placed items on porch if anyone reports them missing. Caller will dispose of items in a couple of days if no one claims them.
6:19 pm, investigate complaint by Barnesville resident. Caller states that she put handcuffs on herself and now is unable to get them off. Caller tried a hammer but with no success. Handcuffs were removed at 6:30pm.
6:49 pm, East Main Street caller advised a “fixed” blade knife is in the middle of the far entrance/exit of the parking lot. Checked area and did not find it .

12:57 pm, Hit skip accident. Report of a semi-truck striking a pole and knocking electric wires down at the downtown square, checked camera to verify.
1:54 pm, West Church Street, report of accident with property damage.
2;53 pm, Follow up investigation, out at Heritage Co-Op, in reference to accident.
5:11 pm, South Lincoln Avenue, investigate complaint, caller stating that person just left there and was making death threats towards husband.
6:02 pm, West Church Street, accident with property damage. Woman caller states her grandparents hit a telephone pole by the elementary school.
6:40 pm, caller asked if police could get basketball from the middle of park lake.

1:07 am, At Memorial Park. Vehicle parked by the dam. Officers spoke with the juveniles and advised them the park closes at dark. They have school tomorrow and need to get home.
1:39 am, Pine Lane, traffic stop, warning for improper display.
10:22 am, Morgantown/Russell’s Crossing, vehicle lockout.
11:05 am, East Main Street, investigate complaint, there are 2 hypodermic needles in caller’ yard. Needles disposed of.
11:39 am, North Lincoln Avenue, Caller advises they purchased the residence and found what looks to be some type of remains. The officer checked and determined it to be a deer carcass.
11:55 am, Save A lot parking lot, caller advised his vehicle was hit and driver left parking lot. Caller wrote down license plate number.
3:11 pm, Mulberry Street, traffic stop.
3:31 pm, North Arch Street, moved debris out of the street in front of veteran’s memorial.
4:42 pm, High Street, caller reporting neighbors playing loud music and possibly arguing. Negative contact. The complainant called back and was upset that officer did not hear anything.
9:57 pm, traffic stop on South Chestnut Street, consent search.
9:57 pm, man called wanting to know the status of his brother’s dog related to South Chestnut Street consent search. Advised didn’t know. Pipe with burnt substance and possible meth rock discovered. Citation Driving Under Suspension, waiting on valid driver to pick man up.

12:04 am, West Main Street, traffic stop. Male is sick and going to the hospital. Warning issued for stop sign violation.
1:00 am, South Broadway Street, traffic stop, warning issued for improper display.
7:35 am, South Gardner Street, investigate complaint. Caller states neighbor gets an air horn out when they start her boyfriend’s truck in the morning because it is too loud. No contact with neighbor. Advised if they hear the horn again to call back. Called neighbor and left a complaint message related to the complaint.
9:39 am, Caller advised granddaughter and boyfriend both from Canton, took truck last Saturday and came to Barnesville since as has family here. Does not know address nor family’s name. Truck was reported to the Canton PD last Saturday and was advised if it was not returned by tomorrow 3-15-2025, they would list it as stolen.
2:13 pm, South Chestnut Street, a caller advised driver coming into town and vehicle is all over the road. Witnessed on North Chestnut and appears to be driving fine.
2:39 pm, East Main Street, traffic stop, attempting to stop the driver that was previously reported all over the roadway. Driver states his sugar was low and was on his way to get something to eat.
455 pm, Called in advising that he wants to report that he and his wife are going through a lot lately. Issue involves an ex-boyfriend who is making threats against caller saying they know where to hide a body. Issue also related to who is leasing the apartment with demands he vacate the apartment. Advised caller
6:12 pm, Pine Lane, investigating complaint. Officer flagged down on Morgantown Avenue about a child walking about. Child’s parents are not home. Child walked into nearby residence on Pine Lane. Negative contact at residence. Child answered door, requested to speak with father. The child appears to be 4 or 5 years old. Child is fine.
8:16 pm, Mackey Drive, caller requesting escort to get items from apartment.

12:02 am, Morgantown Avenue, caller requested welfare check on mother. Last heard from her mother 5 minutes ago and that she was nervous acting having a possible mental issue and very confused. Squad is being dispatched.
4:19 am, South Gardner Street, investigate complaint, loud vehicle starting up.
11:53 am, Male caller reporting that a dog chases him while on his bike.
3:02 pm, Henderson Street, traffic stop, paraphernalia found, female mirandized.
4:40 pm, Sycamore Street, caller advises that vehicles are driving up and down the street at a high rate of speed. Also, a 4-wheeler driving on the street and a white truck that did a burnout and spinning tires.
7:52 pm, Caller called in advising that she and other neighbors heard a large bang or boom and that there was smoke coming out of a house. Requested a welfare check.
8:11 pm, Caller called in reference to someone hacking security on phone and device. Advised to fill out a complaint form.
10:45 pm, South Broadway Street, investigate complaint about a party going on every weekend with loud music.

4:22 pm, Person at station stating that mail is being delivered to her address belonging to former resident. That person continually goes thru mailbox to get her mail. Advised to contact the post office to redirect that person’s mail.
5:08 pm, investigate complaint. Caller states local bank’s atm door is ajar and afraid to touch it. Attempted contact with keyholder numerous times with no luck. Was finally able to make contact.
6:47 pm, investigate complaint, OSP called advised to have officers be on the lookout for a green sandbox truck coming from I-70. Caller reports smoke coming out of the truck. Truck was stopped and everything checked out ok.
6:47 pm, Village Park, investigating complaint about a person doing community policing picking up baseballs that landed outside of the ballfields.
