Helen Virginia VanDyne

Helen Virginia Pittman VanDyne, 82, of Powhatan Point, Ohio, died Thursday, March 20, 2025, in Wheeling Hospital. She was Born in Beallsville, Ohio on November 17, 1942.

Helen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who enjoyed cooking and baking, gardening and collecting Snow Babies. She was a member of the Powhatan Church of Christ. When her children and grandchildren were young, she was active in the PTO, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her loving husband, Fred D. VanDyne Jr. in 2014, a daughter, Lori Ann Cooper, a grand daughter-in-law, Ayla Dawn Cooper.

Helen is survived by her son, Scott VanDyne; a son-in-law, Mark Cooper; two grandsons, Josh (Samantha) Cooper and Gavin (Cathy Wise) Cooper; a great grandson, Rowan Cooper; her in-laws and nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. at the Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg, Ohio, where services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Paul Marty officiating. The burial will follow in Powhatan Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the O.R. & W. Fire District, 4210 Central Ave., Shadyside, OH 43947.
