Charles Roger Lucas

Charles Roger “Luke” Lucas, 83, of Jacobsburg, OH, died Sunday, March 23, 2025, at Liza’s Place. He was born in Bellaire, OH on July 28, 1941, a son of the late Georgia Lucas Myers.

Roger was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather as well as being an avid outdoorsman and an overall hard worker. He worked as a farmer and ran equipment for the Belmont County Engineers for 33 years. Roger always took solace in the outdoors, especially spending time with his horses and riding the trails or attending horse pulls at local fairs. He was a member of the Coon Hunters Club and Broken Arrow Saddle Club, and was a member of Jacobsburg United Methodist Church.

In addition to his mother, Roger was preceded in death by his brother, Lindell Russ, his aunt Georgia Dornon who raised him, his in-laws Paul and Norma Caldwell, his daughter-in-law Heather Marie Lucas, and a great grandson Jaxsyn Paul Lucas.

Roger is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Judith “Judy” Caldwell Lucas; his children, Lori Lucas, Stacey (Mitchell) Royer, and Roger P. (Cara Burdine) Lucas; his grandchildren, Jason Michael (Brittany) Dunn, Roger Paul (Haley) Lucas, Morgan Conway, and Mason Conway; his great grandchildren, Gemma Dunn, and Kasen Dunn; and special friend and neighbor Tammy Haines.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, March 28th for visitation from 3-7 p.m. at the Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg, Ohio. A service will be held the following day, Saturday, March 29th, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Rusty Atkinson officiating. The burial will follow at Jacobsburg Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, or Smith Township Volunteer Fire Dept., or Shriner’s Hospitals.
