Helen Faye Kahrig

Helen Faye Kahrig, age 84, of Salesville, passed away March 22, 2025 at Astoria Place in Cambridge. She was born at home in Salesville on February 16, 1941, a daughter of the late Foster Lawrence Hayes and Ildreth E. (Stallings) Hayes.
Mrs. Kahrig graduated high school and attended one year of business college. She started out her career working for Columbia Gas, then spent about 29 years working at March Electric and after that she worked at the Secrest Senior Center for another 10 years.
Helen was a member of the Old Washington Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of the Pennyroyal Ruritan Club and a former member of the Eagles. She was an avid collector of Mosser and Boyd Glass and Longaberger Baskets. She couldn’t pass up a deal on Volkswagen Bugs or a clown that she could set on a shelf at home.
Helen is survived by her husband of 63 years, William E. “Bill” Kahrig; two sons, John Kahrig and Bob (& Lisa) Kahrig; five grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Doug and Nikki Kahrig, Krista, Dusty and Jaderiana Kahrig; six great grandchildren; her sister Connie Lou Calloway; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by: her parents; and two brothers Kenneth and James Hayes.
