Shirley Ann White

Shirley Ann White, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2025 at Emerald Pointe in Barnesville, Ohio surrounded by her family. She was born on August 24, 1939 in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Terri Allen & Gladys Sheets. Shirley was preceded in death by her sister, Lila Robey, brother, Larry Sheets, grandson, John Oscar Barnes III, and close friend, Roberta Hardwick.
Shirley is survived by her husband Gerald ‘Jerry” White that would be sharing their 43rd anniversary on March 27. Their children, Jack Riley, Glenn Riley, Kim Riley, Terry Riley, Crystal Hill, Amy (Ben) Williams, Shaun (Missy) White and Kevin (Julie) White. Shirley has 19 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Shirley leaves behind her sister Sharon Polites, the Hardwick family, and a special friend, Patsy Wells.
Shirley was retired from Lazarus where she worked as an executive director in marketing. She was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star where she served as a Worthy Matron. She was the glue that has held everyone together for many years. She will always be remembered for her nurturing heart while giving unconditional love to all that were close to her. She always welcomed everyone with a loving smile and open arms. She was known for her feisty personality, her sense of humor, ornery grin, and her infectious laugh. Shirley’s home was the place all friends and family gathered for all occasions creating unforgettable memories while sharing laughter. Shirley enjoyed living in Daytona Beach for the past 30 years, spending time with family, friends, camping, crocheting, painting, light houses, sailboats, puzzles, finding seashells, the ocean, and most of all loved bickering with her husband Jerry.
Shirley was an amazing and devoted mother, wife, and grandmother that loved spending time with her husband Jerry, kids, and grandkids. She left a legacy of love to all that knew her.
The family would like to give a very special thank you to all the amazing staff at Emerald Pointe that had provided the upmost and compassionate care through some of the darkest days. We are forever grateful for the love and support you have shown to Shirley and to her family.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025 from 11:00am until the time of the service at 1:00pm with Pastor Rodney West officiating at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio. Burial will follow at Hope Cemetery in Hendrysburg, Ohio.
