Barnesville Shamrocks Softball Secure Win Against Monroe Central Seminoles

Barnesville Varsity Shamrocks Softball defeated Monroe Central Varsity Seminoles 6-1 on Monday.
Monroe Central opened the scoring in the first after an error scored one run.
Barnesville jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the second inning after Payton Dudzik hit an inside the park home run, Chae Smolira tripled to center field, and Lilly Welch grounded out, each scoring one run.
The Shamrocks extended their early lead with two runs in the bottom of the third thanks to RBI singles by Peyton Loudin and Smolira.
Ella Betts earned the win for Barnesville, allowing three hits and one run (zero earned) over five innings, striking out seven and walking two. Karlie Haslam took the loss for Monroe Central, going six innings, allowing six runs (five earned) on 11 hits, striking out three, and walking none. Loudin pitched two innings of shutout ball for Barnesville in relief, allowing one hit, striking out two, and walking one.
The Rocks accumulated 11 hits in the game. Maddy Tyson, Kylee Powell, Smolira, and Dudzik each collected two hits. Jadyn Miller set the tone at the top of the lineup for Monroe Central with two hits in three at bats, and stealing two bases.
