Payton Dudzik’s Power on Display as Barnesville Softball Defeats River

Payton Dudzik hit two home runs and drove in four as Barnesville’s Varsity Softball defeated River 10-0 on Wednesday. Dudzik homered in the 3rd and 4th innings.

The Rocks jumped out to the lead in the top of the 1st inning after Chae Smolira doubled, scoring two runs, and Kylee Powell singled, scoring one.

Barnesville added three more runs in the 3rd on three hits, including Dudzik solo home run to center. Dudzik’s second home run in the 4th scored two runs.

Ella Betts earned the win for the Shamrocks. The starter surrendered one hit on zero runs over four innings, striking out seven and walking two. Ava Wohnhas took the loss for River, going seven innings, giving up 10 runs on 10 hits, striking out six and walking two. Abigail Johnson pitched three scoreless innings in relief, allowing two hits and striking out four.

Barnesville accumulated 10 hits in the game with zero errors. Kaylee Hagan, Wohnhas, and Ithica Daugherty each collected one hit for River.
