Shamrock Softball Defeats Buckeye Local on 3-Hit Performance by Maddy Tyson

Maddy Tyson collected three hits in four at bats, as Barnesville defeated Buckeye Local 9-0 on Thursday. Tyson doubled in the 2nd and 4th innings, and singled in the 6th.

The Shamrocks got on the board in the top of the 2nd inning after Peyton Loudin singled to center field, Sophie Carpenter tripled to center, and Tyson doubled, each scoring one run.

Loudin earned the win for Barnesville, giving up one hit and no runs over five innings, while striking out two and walking one. Loudin also collected two hits for the Rocks in three at bats. Lander took the loss for Buckeye Local, going four innings, giving up five runs on six hits. Abigail Johnson pitched two shutout innings in relief, striking out three.

Next up for Barnesville will be Union Local on Monday.
