County Sheriff’s Call Log

Western Belmont County excerpts from the Belmont County Sheriff’s Office Call Logs March 28 through April 2 are reported below: 

Friday, March 28 

4:16 pm – investigate complaint regarding a subject sitting in a vehicle in the parking lot behind Bethesda Post Office. Office faxing a run sheet to Ohio State Highway Patrol, Belmont and Bethesda departments with vehicle descriptions. Patrol dispatched.   

5:18 pm – offense at Glenwood Village Apartments in Bethesda. Deputy dispatched. Male has been drinking while taking care of 10-year-old. Admits to arguing resulting in welfare check. Report forwarded to Child Protective Services.  

7:18 pm – threats or harassment in Allendonia.  The caller is having issues with a former employee and employee’s brother. Brother is sending threatening messages. Deputy called.

10:40 pm – investigate complaint in Belmont. Caller believes two guys in a car came back to the house and ripped a fence down. Caller put fence back up before officers arrived. Information taken.

Saturday, March 29

7:37 pm – warrant check at Belmont. The current resident is not familiar with subject stating they moved into the residence two weeks ago. Subject moved.

9:45 pm – accident with property damage on Steel Road, Armstrong Mills. The dispatcher from Monroe County advised vehicle is in a filed. Male caller reports a group of people were riding the trails. A truck with a trailer was leaving clipping the side of the caller’s vehicle. The two drivers spoke and exchanged information.

Sunday, March 30

6:15 am – inmate transfer with Guernsey County at Fairview Exit (198). Cleared at 7:05 am.   

7:41 pm – warrant check in Bethesda.  Belmont and Guernsey deputies on service attempt. Spoke with current residents. The subject moved out in November 2024.  

Monday, March 31

7:15 pm – Holloway caller reports neighbor has dogs off their leashes. Dogs are trying to break through fences. The neighbor is currently making verbal slurs and threats. Caller just wants record made.   

 Tuesday, April 1

10:45 am – Kirkwood Twp. (Freeport address).  Abandoned trailer that has been in place since last summer. No identification on trailer. Tow truck called. Caller wanted a record made.

2:17 pm – Somerton. Power had been shut off and man illegally reconnected it. South Central Power on scene. Call record only.

2:35 pm – Lafferty. Call regarding female fighting with subject male heard in the background denying any thing was going on. Female claims male tried to stab her in the neck with plastic object. Info taken for report. Deputy dispatched.

Wednesday, April 2

3:41 pm – Female caller reports unresponsive male at Wayne Township, Beallsville address. Deputies were dispatched. Subject is deceased, DOA.    

5:21 pm – Investigate complaint at Belmont. Welfare check requested for Aunt. Two deputies were dispatched. At 5:36 the caller reports back advising Aunt left in an unknown vehicle headed to her home in Lafferty.

6:41 pm – Holloway caller reports person is on property, wants them removed. Call only.
