William E. Unterzuber

William E. Unterzuber, 90, of Cadiz, Ohio passed away on April 6, 2025, at Gable’s Care Center in Hopedale, Ohio. He was born on April 23, 1934, in Bellaire, Ohio a son of the late Charles and Edith Unterzuber.
William served in the United States Army for 6 years. In his working career he was a coal miner. Growing up, William was a member of the 4H program for many years, which led to a passion of farming that he carried into his later years. He loved to play cards, especially rummy. He also loved the Lord and his faith; he was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in St. Clairsville for many years. Most of all, William was a family man. He loved his wife and children, and he especially loved being a grandpa and watching his grandchildren grow up.
He was preceded in death in addition to his parents by his wife, Janelle Hall Unterzuber in 2023, and a son-in-law, Scott Moreland.
He is survived by his children, Virginia Moreland of Cadiz, Kelly Unterzuber of St. Clairsville, John (Darla) Unterzuber of Pensacola, Florida, Julie (Dale) Stewart of Cambridge, Sylvia Smith of Barnesville and Jessica Gianangeli of Powhatan; grandchildren, Jake, Janelle, Tyler, Kevin, John Jr., Jennifer, Jimmy, Timmy, Angelica, William, David, Michael, Andrew, Raymond, Bryce, Reed, Jeremiah, Juliana, Brooklyn and Landen; great-grandchildren, Madison, Jerott and Mia; siblings, Doug (Jackie) Unterzuber, Barb (Pete) Richardson and Nancy Lyden.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2025, from 10-12 until the time of funeral service at 12:00p.m. with Pastor Jessica Kurr officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens in Colerain where William will be laid to rest beside his wife, Janelle.
