Norma Jean Hannahs

With profound sadness and deep gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of Norma Jean Hannahs, who left this world peacefully on April 9, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on November 13, 1933, Norma’s life was a testament to love, faith, and devotion.
Norma was a dedicated homemaker, creating a nurturing and loving environment for her family. Her kitchen was a haven where she poured her heart into cooking and baking, earning her the unofficial title of “world’s best cook and baker.”
A woman of deep Christian faith, Norma was a beloved member of Bethel Church in Baileys Mill, where she found strength and community. Her faith was a guiding light, inspiring those around her with her unwavering belief and kindness.
Norma had an infectious spirit for sports, and she was an passionate supporter of the Steelers, Buckeyes, and Shamrocks. Whether cheering from the stands or the comfort of her home, her enthusiasm was both admirable and contagious.
Family was the cornerstone of Norma’s life. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Charles and Amy (Fulkerson) Toohey; her devoted husband, Paul Allen Hannahs; siblings, Ronald Toohey, Ruth Starr, Mary Leopard; and children, Gary Lee Long, and Paula Jean Hannahs-Bradford. Though she has now joined them, her legacy continues to thrive through her surviving family: her cherished children, Michelle Reneé Smith, and Christopher Allen (Rachel) Hannahs of Barnesville, Ohio; grandchildren, Ryan (Casey) Edwards, Ashton (Austin) Wolverton, Auston Hannahs, Rachelle (Randy) Roberts, Cade Hannahs, Colin Hannahs; and great-grandchildren, Alexis Meade, Randy Roberts, Estelle Roberts, Jacob Edwards, Brenna Shriver, Bryson Shriver, Kaelyn, Camron, Addilyn, Aven Wolverton.
Norma was also known as one of the world’s best babysitters, offering her warmth and wisdom to the younger generations. Her gentle spirit and loving nature left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Per Norma’s wishes, no formal services will be held. Arrangements have been entrusted to CARE Funeral & Cremation Specialists, St. Clairsville, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, let us honor Norma by celebrating the simple joys of life—sharing a meal with loved ones, cheering for our favorite teams, and embracing every moment with gratitude and love.
