Donald F. Van Fossen, Sr.

Donald F. Van Fossen, Sr. of Newcomerstown, Ohio, formerly of Flushing, Ohio passed away April 10th, 2025 at the age of 94 at Sycamore Run Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  He was born March 23rd, 1931, at home in Flushing, to the late Earl Van Fossen and Ocie (McClintock) Bendure.

 A proud member of The United States Marine Corp during the Korean War, Donald was a member of The American Legion Post 159.  He was a coal miner for 28 years at Y&O Coal in Cadiz and had a career as a truck driver for Hillandale Farms in Flushing.  He enjoyed golfing, bowling and listening to Willy Nelson music.

In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his wife, Janet Van Fossen, step-father, John R. Bendure, brother Earl Van Fossen and son, John Van Fossen.

Donald is survived by his children Donald (Tami) Van Fossen, Jr. of Belmont, Carol (Jerry) Fulton of Centerville, Virginia Van Fossen of St. Clairsville, Misty (Josh) Ross of Newcomerstown; step-children Ray Turner of Belmont, Jay (Lisa) Turner of Piedmont and Joy (Randy) Boyd of Belmont; grandchildren Donald Paul Van Fossen, Kristen (Jamie) Singer, Jenna Trigg, James Phillips, Katelyn Boyd, Jake Boyd, Alexis Ross, Charles Hall Jr., Brooklynn Hall, Khloe Ross, Jaysen Turner, Chelsea Turner; (6) great-grandchildren and special buddy, ‘Goober’.

Friends will be received Tuesday April 15th, 2025, from 11 am until the time of Full Military Honors and funeral at 1 pm at Wilson Funeral Home 322 N Main St., Bethesda, OH 43719, burial to follow at Rock Hill Cemetery in Flushing, Ohio.
