Barnesville – 11, Shenandoah – 2

Tuesday’s game at Sarahsville was a prodigious night for Abby Johnson as the ‘Rocks beat the Zeps 11-2.

Johnson finished a triple shy of the cycle and collected five RBIS to lead the team. The shortstop’s double and home run were the only extra-base hits the evening for the Shamrocks. Peyton Loudin finished with three RBIs helping cement the win.

Loudin also led the team on the mound pitching four frames and notching four strikeouts. She pitched three scoreless innings to close out the game with three strikeouts.

Barnesville logged five runs in the seventh after starting out to a 6-0 lead in the second inning.      

Barnesville – 9, Bellaire – 6

Barnesville Varsity Shamrocks beat Bellaire 9-6 on Wednesday.

Barnesville Varsity Shamrocks got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Maddy Tyson tripled to center field, and Abigail Johnson stole home, each scoring one run.

A triple by Johnson extended the Barnesville Varsity Shamrocks lead to 3-0 in the bottom of the second inning.

Addison Kovach hit an inside the park home run, which helped Bellaire tie the game at three in the top of the third.

Barnesville Varsity Shamrocks took the lead in the bottom of the third. Kylee Powell scored after tagging up, to give Barnesville Varsity Shamrocks the edge, 4-3.

Barnesville Varsity Shamrocks scored five runs on two hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. Powell hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, an error scored one run, Sophie Carpenter doubled, scoring two runs, and an error scored one run.

Ella Betts earned the win for Barnesville Varsity Shamrocks. The pitcher allowed four hits and three runs over five and two-thirds innings, striking out seven and walking one. Kovach began the game for Bellaire. The starting pitcher surrendered four hits and four runs (three earned) over three innings, striking out three and walking six. Johnson appeared in relief for Barnesville Varsity Shamrocks.

Carpenter led Barnesville Varsity Shamrocks with two runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. The third baseman went 2-for-4 on the day. Payton Dudzik paced Barnesville Varsity Shamrocks with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, piling up nine walks for the game. Dudzik and Johnson each stole multiple bases for Barnesville Varsity Shamrocks. Barnesville Varsity Shamrocks ran wild on the base paths, amassing seven stolen bases for the game.

Kovach drove the middle of the lineup, leading Bellaire with five runs batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Rylie Porter led Bellaire with three hits in three at bats.

Barnesville – 7, Bellaire – 3

On Friday, Barnesville met opponent Bellaire Big Red for a second time this week at Bellaire. 

Barnesville won the game 7-3 with Lilly Welch collecting a two-run single while Payton Dudzik hit a home run.

Abby Johnson logged a RBI double and Sophia Carpenter a run scoring single.
