The Shamrocks suffered an 8-0 loss at home against Cambridge. The loss drops the Rox record to 5-3 on the season.
Tuesday, April 15: Barnesville – 11, Shenandoah – 1
The Shamrocks won in impressive fashion tonight at home 11-1 over Shenandoah in 5 innings.
Freshman Bobby Thompson (1-0) was outstanding on the mound picking up his first varsity mound win. Thompson pitched 5 innings, giving up only 3 hits. He struck out 6 Zeps and did not walk a batter.
Offensively, the Shamrocks pounded out 10 hits. They were led at the plate by Parker Sobutka (2 RBI), Blake Burkhart (1 RBI), and Casey Carpenter (1 RBI) with 2 hits apiece. Max Miller (1RBI), Brayden Watters (2 RBI), Dylan Blon, and Caden Sellers (1 RBI) each added a hit to the cause. Aidan Caldwell contributed an RBI.
The victory raises the Rox record to 6-3 on the season. The return to action on Wednesday at Cambridge at 5pm.
Wednesday, April 16: Cambridge – 7, Barnesville – 5
The Shamrocks lost 7-5 on the road tonight against Cambridge. The loss drops their record to 6-4 on the season.
Thursday, April 17: St. Clairsville – 13, Barnesville – 0
The lopsided loss to St. Clairsville results in a 6-5 record for the season.
Friday, April 18: Martins Ferry – 4, Barnesville – 3
The Shamrocks lost a tough one tonight at home to Martins Ferry 4-3.
The loss drops the Rox record to an even 6-6 for the season.
Saturday, April 19: Barnesville – 8, Garaway – 6.
The Shamrocks defeated Garaway 8-6 at home today.
Casey Carpenter picked up the mound victory by pitching 4 2/3 innings. Carpenter struck out 3 Pirates. Keegan Martin and Cam Carpenter both pitched in relief.
Offensively, the Shamrocks collected 9 hits. They were led at the plate by Max Miller with 2 hits. Brayden Watters (2 RBI), Marshall Meade (1 RBI), Dylan Blon (1RBI), Caleb Powell, Casey Carpenter (2RBI), Blake Burkhart, and Jack Anderson each contributed a hit apiece.
The victory raises the Rox record to 7-6 on the season.
