UL Easter Egg Hunt

The Union Local football field was filled with excitement and laughter as students in preschool through second grade participated in a festive Easter egg hunt this week.

The event was organized by the Middle School Student Council.

From hunting for colorful eggs to meeting the Easter Bunny, it was a day that brought smiles to so many little faces.

UL employees, l-r, Kayla Mathias, Alonna Morrison, Kristin Heatherington, Sandy Cain and Chris Hoblick were recognized at the April 17 school board meeting as April Jet Setters. Unable to make the meeting were honorees Anna Bodkin and MJ Blake.

UL Senior Honored

ULHS Senior Sloan Hanasky received the Franklin B. Walter Award at a banquet in Colub She was recognized yesterday at a banquet in Columbus this week.

The Franklin B. Walter All-Scholastic Award Program was established by the Ohio Educational Service Center Association (OESCA) to promote and recognize outstanding academic achievement. One senior from each Ohio county who is nominated by an ESC is eligible to receive this honor each spring. Sloan represented Belmont County.

This marks the third year in a row a Union Local student received the award.

Union Local Middle School Luau Dance – April 25

The dance will take place in the Middle School Gym from 6:00-8:00 on Friday, April 25 for students grades 6-8. Tickets are $15 for a couple or $10 single. The ticket price includes pizza, dessert and drink.   

The dance is semi-formal or Luau attire with school dress code required. 

Union Local Student Career Fair – April 29

The Union Local School District is hosting a Career Fair for District 8th grade and high school students, Tuesday April 29 in the High School Gym. The fair will run from 8:00 – 12:30. 

For area employers and agencies, it is an opportunity to promote summer jobs, internships and career opportunities.
