Barnesville Shamrock Baseball
Tuesday, April 22: River – 6, Barnesville – 1
The Shamrocks lost on the road at River 6-1. Barnesville scored its only run in the second inning, but the Pilots scored during the rest of the contest including four runs in the sixth inning.
Casey Carpenter drove in the Shamrock’s run. Marshall Meade pitched five innings striking out five.
Wednesday, April 23: Barnesville – 9, Martins Ferry – 0
The Shamrocks defeated Martins Ferry 9-0 while on the road Wednesday.
Dylan Blon pitched 6 strong innings striking out 9 batters while walking 2 to earn the mound win. Bobby Thompson pitched a scoreless 7th inning in relief. The two combined to limit Martins Ferry to just 4 hits.
Offensively, the Shamrocks pounded out 11 hits. They were led by Max Miller with 3 hits. Brayden Watters (2 RBI), Caleb Powell (3 RBI), and Blake Burkhart contributed 2 hits apiece. Parker Sobutka (1 RBI) and Caden Sellers each added a hit. Dylan Blon contributed an RBI.
Thursday, April 24: Ridgewood – 9, Barnesville – 8
The Shamrocks suffered a hard fought 9-8 loss to Ridgewood at home Thursday night losing in the 10th frame to the Generals.
Dylan Blon singled four times while Keegan Martin hit a double.
The loss drops their record to 8-8 on the season.
