Answer to Last Week’s Entry

What is going on here? Where was this photo taken? It is a local real photo postcard from the early days of the 20th century. Bruce Yarnall will share general post card history and the local stories that are revealed through this once popular communication medium.
Answer: This photo was taken during the 1908 Barnesville Centennial Celebration. This building was located at 112-114 East Main Street until c.1937. It had apartments upstairs and two business rooms on the first floor. For many years a grocery store was located here.
The last owner of the building was restauranter Albert Bohandy. He tore it down and built a new building on the site that was the home of the J.C. Penny Company until the business was destroyed by fire on December 22, 1960.
