Union Local Career Fair

The First Union Local High School Career Fair was a hit. Seventy vendors provided information for high school students as they consider their future career paths.

Targeted to the district’s 8th grade and high school students, the event took place Tuesday, April 29 in the High School Gym from 8:00 – 12:30.

For area employers and agencies, it was an opportunity to promote summer jobs, internships and career opportunities.

One of the exhibitors was AMfg Labs of Barnesville, a relatively new firm that hopes to create a locally educated workforce for the company’s products.

Luke Phalen, chief operating officer, represented the company at the event. He shared his thoughts on the program, “excited to be at Union Local High School today for their career fair, representing AMfgLabs. We’re talking with students about advanced manufacturing, additive technologies, and the exciting careers being built right here in the Ohio Valley”.
