The Fairview Volunteer Fire Department achieved the status of an EMS transporting agency on May 3, 2025.
The department’s Facebook release stated, “after being established as a fire department in 1895, making us one of the oldest fire departments in the area, and serving as a fire only department for 124 years, in May of 2019 we added EMS first responders to our department”.
Beginning in May 2019, the Fairview EMS providers have completed literally hundreds of calls in the department’s service area as well as providing aid to neighboring departments.
Fairview EMS crews are now able to transport patients to the hospital without the need to wait on additional and limited EMS agencies.
For this development, the department needs to add on to the existing station to make space for the vehicles and equipment required.
Earlier, the department was able to expand the station by adding a second truck bay with volunteer financial support.
That project cost nearly $100,000 as was paid for by donations from the residents of our area with countless hours of work put in by members and volunteers to keep costs down and make the project happen.
