School Board Recognizes Robotics Teams
The teams were honored by the Barnesville School Board at their May Meeting. Superintendent Micah Fuchs introduced the honor noting “we are proud to share a remarkable achievement by our talented students who earned the opportunity to represent our district at the VEX World Championships in Dallas” last weekend.
“Throughout the years, countless hours were spent after hours and during breaks, designing, building, coding and refining their robot. Their dedication extended beyond the mechanics of robotics; they created teamwork, perseverance, and a deep respect for one another and their competitors. At every event leading up to the Worlds, they represented Barnesville with integrity and respect.
“This would not have been possible without the support of Mr. Jon Jordan and the district. Mr. Jordan’s passion for STEM, his countless hours of mentorship, and his commitment to our students with problem-solving opportunities have left an impact.
“We commend our robotics teams for their exceptional accomplishments and extend our appreciation to Mr. Jordan for his years of service and dedication to the students and mission of Barnesville Schools.”
Chestnut Lanes Spots Robotics Team Banquet
Members of the Barnesville Robotics Teams and their parents will be feted to a complimentary banquet at Chestnut Lanes Sunday night!
A.J. Cordner shared the following regarding the businesses’ gesture.
“Originally, we decided to buy the bowling and they pay for the pizza/pop. That plan has been scrapped. We will buy everything. These kids should be celebrated for their hard work, creativity, perseverance and determination. As should their families’ sacrifices.
“My plea over the weekend, stop in and make a donation to the Robotics Team so they can maintain this level of excellence. We all want the best school possible in Barnesville. That means academically as well. Thanks for making Barnesville proud Robotics Team”, Cordner added.
