Cutting Class for a Cure: Record-Breaking Year!

By Lisa Gallagher, Barnesville Area News

Barnesville Middle School’s Cutting Class for a Cure raised a record-breaking $49,194 last Friday to assist any Belmont County resident receiving cancer treatment. Middle School teacher and chair of the nonprofit, Denise Adkins-Leach, stated, “We had a beautiful day and everyone had fun while raising money for a great cause.” This year’s total surpassed last year’s amount by over three thousand dollars. Adkins-Leach remarked that “we are so very fortunate to have the support of our community and surrounding areas.”

If were unavailable to attend the event and would like to donate, please send a check payable to Cutting Class for a Cure to Barnesville Middle School, c/o Denise Leach, 970 Shamrock Drive, Barnesville, Ohio 43713.

Denise Adkins-Leach accepts a donation from the Barnesville VFW Post 2792 from members (left to right) Benny Akrom, Charlie Morrison, and Clarence Atkinson.
