Excerpts from the Barnesville Police Department log May 12 through May 18 are reported below.

Monday, May 12, 2025

1:18 am –  officers to Mt. Olivet, special detail.

10:32 am – Notice issued for yard mowing at Westview Drive residence..

3:38 pm – vehicle lockout at Somerton Highway. Officer advised it location is  far out in Warren township.

4:44 pm – caller states license plate tags were stolen from location on Chestnut Ridge Road. Advised  to contact the Sheriff’s department to file a report.

5:15 pm – male caller asking about golf cart operation in the village. Information provided.

7:54 pm – male caller states he has lost his license plate and has to work 6p-6a and can’t go to the BMV until the next week to get a new plate. Permission sought to drive without a plate. Dispatcher indicated we can’t give permission to do so.

8:39 pm – investigate complaint on Michelli Street. Someone called 911 twice.

9:25 pm – person called to advise of a loose dog in the area of West Church Street. Person states that the dog is black. Unknown if it has a collar. Officer notified.

9:55 pm – traffic stop on Morgantown Avenue.

Tuesday, May 13, 2025

8:38 am – alarm drop at the middle school. Officer advised student had passed out but is now with the nurse.

2:33pm – caller referencing a scam call claiming he owed on a 12-year-old closed bank account. The person asked for debit card information. He didn’t give them any information and the dispatcher recommended contacting the bank to make sure the account is closed.

2:49 pm – vehicle lockout at Shamrock Drive.

5:39 pm – traffic stop on East Main Street. Warning issued  for expired plate.

9:35 pm – female at station asking if air pod case has been turned in. She say her daughter dropped it on walk today and another girl picked it up. It keeps pinging and showing at the Memorial Park area. Air pods are not inside the case. Officer went to the park to help locate the case. A group of individuals walked over and found the case.

10:58 pm – South Lincoln Avenue assisting squad with medical emergency.

11:16 pm – female at station turning in a dog found near Beeology. Checked with several individuals and it was not their dog. Animal shelter called. They will come and get the dog in the morning.

Wednesday, May 14, 2025

2:26 am – male who was in the emergency room at hospital for a psych evaluation is throwing things around.

8:47 am – reference to vehicle at South Gardner Street that needs moved. Person advised they will move vehicle.

8:57 am – person at station to pick up Boston Terrier from previous incident. Person was told that the dog warden had been called. The dog was released to owner.

10:53 am – out at Do It Best following up to hit skip in lot yesterday.

10:53 am – person called about rules for E-bikes on sidewalks. I advised that an officer would return his call.

2:34 pm – out at storage building in reference to a man sitting in his truck.

5:19 pm – investigate complaint. Father called to report that his son’s girlfriend was involved in a possible physical domestic situation.

5:20 pm – traffic stop at Henderson Street, Citation issued.

6:00 pm – investigate complaint at station. Person completing a statement and speaking with an officer.

8:04 pm – follow up investigation. Individuals at station in reference to follow up attempt from earlier to speak with an officer.

11:34 pm – traffic stop on East Main Street.

Thursday, May 15, 2025

8:26 am – female at station to make a complaint about a house on Morgantown Avenue. Wants the grass cut.

11:35 am – person at station talking to an officer referencing to a hit skip.

12:08 pm – ER nurse requesting an officer for combative patient.

1:50 pm – person at station speaking to an officer in reference to a previous complaint.

3:10 pm – officer called advising of a hit skip at the high school parking lot. No camera footage where the car was parked.

3:15 pm – person at station for a private property accident report.

3:27 pm – call about an unresponsive female.  She is now responsive.

4:18 pm – investigate complaint at South Lincoln Avenue. Caller advised two girls riding horses and drinking alcohol. Horses were loaded into a trailer and citation was issued for an open container.

4:55 pm – caller from Bernard Street in reference to a mowing crew blocking the street. I advised officers are on a stop presently but will advise when clear to respond. He advised to disregard since they will probably be gone.

7:38 pm – traffic stop on East Main Street.

Friday, May 16, 2025

5:55 am – traffic stop on East Main Street. Warning was given for improper display.

10:55 am – caller in reference to a black cow along roadway two miles out on south 800. Advised the caller to  contact the State Highway Patrol.

4:39 pm – investigate complaint at South Gardner Street. Report of three juveniles ding dong ditching houses.

4:51 pm – investigate complaint at Fair Street. Caller states a white golf cart was going through the one way section of North Street in the wrong direction. Person was carrying an infant in their arms while driving. Officer notified.

8:15 pm – investigate complaint at North Lincoln Avenue. Male with lacerations on hand from glass. Male is now at the fire station. Squad members advised they did not need anything from the police.

10:29 pm – person called and stated that she found a stray cat in Senecaville and was not sure what to do with the cat. She stated that she contacted the Guernsey County Sheriff’s department, but they did not answer their phone. I advised her typically animal shelters would not take animals from cross county lines. She would need to contact the Guernsey County Sheriff’s department.

11:06 pm – caller asking if noise ordinance applies just beyond Hendrysburg area. I advised that the Barnesville noise ordinance is only within the corporation limits. Advised to contact the Belmont County Sheriff’s department.

Saturday, May 17, 2025

12:22 am – special detail on Somerton highway. Check the area of SR 800 and SR 148 for a tree down. Ohio State Patrol requested the size of tree before they contact ODOT. I advised them that the trees blocking were two 8-inch round trees.

4:03 pm – vehicle sitting across from Chestnut Package store. It has been there several days. Everything checks out.

5:35 pm – Caller from Morgantown Avenue needs help getting into her house as her child locked her out of the residence.

8:05 pm – traffic stop on South Chestnut Street. Gave a warning for expired registration.

11:19 pm – traffic stop at Laws Street.

Sunday, May 18, 2025

10:05 am – female caller asking if she could file a report on a guy she met on the internet.

10:16 am – caller advised he was picking up a order at McDonalds and a person made threats towards him because he was speeding through the lot. He wanted the officers to be aware and doesn’t want any further confrontation.

10:18 am – male at station speaking to an officer about the condemned house on Clifton Street. Door is open but has not seen anyone go inside. Officer shut the door.

12:38 pm – male at station speaking to an officer about his daughter getting vapes and tobacco. Person lives in Batesville and will contact the Noble County Sheriff’s department.

8:54 pm – caller wanting to speak to an officer to find out if something is legal or not.
