David H. Raber

David H Raber, 79, of New Concord, OH, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, from cancer.

He was born on July 30, 1945, to the late Henry & Elsie (Lapp) Raber. On September 2, 1965, he married Amanda M. Coblentz who faithfully cared for him until his death.

David was a member of the Heritage Mennonite Church. He loved the Lord and was always willing to give of his time to bless others. In 1972, he was ordained to the ministry, and in 1988, he took his family to Faith Mission Home for 3 years. David, Amanda, and Hosanna went to Romania in 2005 and served for 14 years. David touched many lives with his faith and dedication. He will be missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife Amanda, he is survived by his eight children, Gary (Lois) Raber of Clarkson, KY, Kay (Ivan) Peachey of Boonesville, VA, Jonathan (Susan) Raber of New Concord, OH, Matthew (Leona) Raber of New Concord, OH, Josiah (Bethany) Raber of Lott, TX, Timothy (Glorianna) Raber of Quaker City, OH, Hosanna Raber of New Concord, OH, and Phoebe (Emanuel) King serving in the Middle East; 42 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; siblings, Lydia (John) Miller of Middlebury, IN, Keturah (Paul) Sommers of Minerva, OH, Alice (Crist) Troyer of Hartville, OH, Alfred (Miriam) Raber of Hartville, OH, Leroy Raber of Columbus, OH and Verton (Sue) Raber of Ravenna, OH.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Wayne Raber, John (Anne) Raber and Alvin Raber.

Funeral services will be held at the Heritage Mennonite Church, 59777 West Rd, New Concord, OH 43762, on Sunday, June 1, at 10:00 AM with Marion Miller officiating. Burial will follow. Friends may call at the church from 6-8 on Friday evening, May 30, and 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Saturday, May 31.
