New Downtown Mural Taking Shape

The next mural in the downtown Barnesville catalog will be a patriotic one along the entire south side of the Barnesville VFW #2792 Post on South Chestnut Street.
A joint venture between the village and the post, the mural is also underwritten by a GAP Grant from the Belmont County Tourism Council.
Scott Hagan aka “The Barn Artist” is currently painting the background of the mural. The waving Old Glory is appropriate as the United States marks Flag Day this Saturday, June 14. The federal observance of Flag Day was proposed by President Woodrow Wilson in 1916. In 1949 Congress established the date as an official federal holiday.
