Somerton Man Arrested in Monroe, Faces Several Charges

WOODSFIELD – A traffic stop in Malaga Township on June 3, 2025, resulted in the arrest of a 55-year-old man from Somerton.
Gary M. Henthorn faces several charges following the incident, according to Monroe County Sheriff Derek Norman.
During the traffic stop, Henthorn was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug abuse instruments, and obstructing official business.
Norman credits the arrest to the county’s Criminal Interdiction Unit that he established after taking office this year. The unit targets drug trafficking and criminal activity on Monroe County roadways.
Norman also stressed in his office’s Facebook post that the office is also dedicated to helping individuals battling addiction.
The Sheriff’s Office offers support to anyone seeking treatment, whether they come forward voluntarily or while in custody.
