Vehicle Theft Results in Fugitive’s Arrest

Barnesville Police Chief Rocky Sirianni reports that during the early morning hours of Tuesday, June 10, a male suspect was captured on multiple residential cameras throughout the village checking and entering vehicles. Later that morning, a vehicle was reported stolen from an Ohio Street address.
Barnesville officers were able to identify one John Huntsman as the suspect for vehicle theft and the vehicle entries.
Two days later, the investigation indicated that the vehicle and Huntsman were located at a residence in the Flushing area.
Belmont County Sheriff’s Office responded to the residence, recovered the stolen vehicle, and took Huntsman into custody on an outstanding nationwide parole violation warrant.
Huntsman was also incarcerated on felony theft for the vehicle and may face additional charges, Sirianni said, who thanked the public, the Belmont County Sheriff’s Office, and the Parole Authority for their assistance in Huntsman’s capture.
