Ohio Hills Medical Supplies Flood Donation

“To support the area residents who have been impacted by the devastating floods in Wheeling, WV, OHHC made a donation of needed medical supplies to Wheeling Health Right to benefit those affected by the flooding,” the Ohio Hills Health Center posted online this week.  Ann Ricci, Wheeling Health, right, accepted the donation from  Ohio Hills CEO Jeff Britton.

The Bethesda Fire Department reported on social medial this week a financial gift from MPLX Gathering and Processing permitted the department to purchase new EMS bags, an AED, and a McGrath.

Flower Baskets Sponsorships Available

At the recent Barnesville Area Chamber of Commerce Meeting, Director Jill Hissom shared that there are some downtown flower baskets that still need sponsors.  The cost if $150 per basket. For more information or to sign on contact Hissom at (740) 425-4300 or bacc@barnesvillechamber.com

Sponsors are also sought for the “Dunk Tank” at the August 7 Fun in the Ville. The cost is $250.

An inflatables race will take place that night. The chamber is also preparing Adult bags for that night. They will be filled with coupons from area businesses. Contact Hissom for details. The deadline to participate is July 21.

St. John’s Central Closes

In social media posts this week by the school’s board and school leadership, it was announced that the Bellaire School has closed. Financial hardship was given as the cause.

The private Christian-focused school with grades from 1-12 opened in 2019 following the closing of the Steubenville Diocese school. 

St. John’s was originally established in 1859 by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Columbus. Later, when the Diocese in Steubenville was formed in 1944, control of the parochial school was reassigned to the new diocese.     

Free Gun Locks

Barnesville residents may pick up free gun locks in the lobby of the Barnesville Municipal building thanks to the Barnesville Police Department.
