Melodie Ann (Bunting) Hendershot

Melodie Ann (Bunting) Hendershot, 66, of Barnesville, Ohio, passed away on June 25, 2025, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia. Born on November 27, 1958, she was the beloved daughter of the late Charles “Tubby” and Sara “Marie” (Crooks) Bunting.
A proud graduate of Barnesville High School, Melodie dedicated much of her life to serving her community, including many years with the local EMS.
Melodie is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Jim Hendershot; her children, Chris (Aleysa) Hendershot and their son Jase of Barnesville, and Amber (Wes) Moore of Belmont and her children Layna, Peyton, Logan, McKenna, and Maverick. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and her greatest joy.
She also leaves behind her loyal dogs, Bear and Ollie, who rarely left her side and brought her endless comfort and joy. In addition, she is survived by her mother-in-law Geneva Hendershot; her brother, Dale (Carolyn) Bunting; sisters-in-law, Karen (Travis) Parsley and Kathy Veeck; brother-in-law, Todd Hendershot; and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A private graveside service will be held at the family’s discretion at Crestview Cemetery in Barnesville, Ohio. Melodie’s care has been entrusted to Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio.
