Martha Velma Lee (Carpenter) Bishop

Martha Velma Lee (Carpenter) Bishop, 89, of Cambridge, passed away Tuesday (July 1, 2025).
She was born September 14, 1935 in Noble County, daughter of the late Cleveland E. and Beulah P. (Powell) Carpenter.
A graduate of Beaver Local High School, Martha retired in 1989 from Champion Spark Plug after 33 years of service.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of seventy years, Donald Clarence “DC” Bishop, who passed away January 30, 2025. They were married July 19, 1954. Also deceased are two brothers, Donald and Bernard Carpenter; one sister, Arilla Welker; and her grandparents, Wilbert & Maude Carpenter and Homer & Martha Powell.
She is survived by two sons, Donald G. (Rose) Bishop and Scott D. (Julie) Bishop both of Cambridge; four grandchildren, Britani (Jason) Galloway of Columbus, Janie Lee, Woodrow, and Nicklaus Bishop all of Cambridge; and three great-grandchildren, Lyla and Bryson Galloway of Columbus, and Madeline Bishop of Cambridge.
Visitation will be held Thursday (July 3, 2025) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Evan. Woody Biggs officiating.
Burial will be in Friends Cemetery, Quaker City.
