Sheriff Department Fiscal Officer Retires

Fiscal Officer Kitty Jo Paboucek retired from the Belmont County Sheriff’s Office this past week.
Fun Fact: When Kitty Jo started at BCSO, Sheriff James G. Zusack was her Sergeant, and she finished 25 years later with him as her Sheriff.
Captina Conservancy Featured at New Ohio Center for Wildlife Conservation

The Captina Conservancy got its start with a generous grant from the Columbus Zoo and has been working with the zoo since.
The conservancy is recognized at the Zoo’s new Ohio Center for Wildlife Conservation. At the facility, visitors can see baby hellbenders (some of whom hatched from Captina Creek eggs). The Zoo will release the babies back into the wild when they are about three years old, in an effort to help sustain hellbender populations.
Fairview VFD BBQ Nets Operating Funds
The volunteers of the Fairview Fire Department expressed thanks on social media this week for “everyone who dodged the rain and came out for our chicken BBQ”.
A total of $4,480 was raised to support the Department to help provide the fire and EMS services for the area.
